Graduated with a Diploma in Photography in 1994 with a major in Photojournalism and minor in Fine Arts.
Did an internship with the New Straits Times (NST) in 1993. Shortly after graduated from UiTM, he joined the STAR as a staff photographer until 1999.
His career took off under C.Y.Leow, the then Photo Editor of the Star and offered to join a French newswire agency Agence France-Presse (AFP) as a second photographer in the Kuala Lumpur bureau early 1999.
Being served in the internationally- recognized agency, his works have been published in local and foreign newspapers and most of the well known magazines such as Life magazine’s website (photo of the day), IHT, Time, Asiaweek, Far Eastern Economic Review, The Star-Ledger (NY) and more.
He decided to switch from being news to travel photographer when he was offered to lead a web-based company photography team for assignments throughout the country in 2000. He gained experience and knowledge in web-business and digitally –related industry. Served as a Senior Photographer with the company until Oct 2002.
Apart from his busy schedule, he still finds time to be a judge for photography competitions, share his knowledge and experience by giving talks, conducting workshops and teaches Photojournalism in universities such as UTM, UIA,OUM and UCSF.
A member of Board of Assessors for Photography module for Ministry of Human Resource and the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) under the Ministry of Education. A Panel member for Photography Accreditation for Malaysian Creative Content Industry Guild (CCIG)
Served as a photographer for the European Pressphoto Agency (EPA) in Kuala Lumpur from 2004 till 2014 and currently with METADATA as Principal Trainer.

Che’ Ahmad Azhar
Che’ Ahmad Azhar is a lecturer at the Faculty of Creative Multimedia, Multimedia University, Cyberjaya, Selangor, Malaysia. A pioneer member of the faculty, he has taught in the field of visual communication and photography at the faculty for eighteen years.
A passionate photographer, his work has been featured on the Invisible Photographer Asia (IPA) and LENS Blog The New York Times. He has also held solo exhibitions at the Leica Starhill Gallery Kuala Lumpur and Obscura Photography Festival. He is frequently invited as the jury, guest speaker and facilitator for international and local photography competitions and workshops.
Currently, he is working on a personal project entitled ‘Walk of Life’ – a visual documentation on the street life of Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia.
Che' Ahmad Azhar is a graduate of Graphic Design, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and a Professional Member of Creative Content Industry Guild Malaysia.
